Outdoor Summer

Outdoor Summer

It’s been a big week, having to close the studio for a 3rd time in 16months. 😔

I know it’s everywhere, not just Lisbon, Covid-19 is affecting the whole world. Many businesses are facing challenging decisions, trying to keep hold of the years of hard work and dedication whilst keeping their staff, customers and communities safe.

Which is what brings me to this incredible opportunity that was offered by a neighbouring business. Hotel Gat saw our social media post about closing indoor classes and have offered their outdoor terrace which is currently vacant due to low tourism numbers in Portugal. I knew this would be perfect for us to continue over summer, keeping us practising in the privacy of an inner city terrace just a short 50metres walk from the studio. We have an open air space, minimal direct sun, no one is using the apartments around us and gorgeous cherry blossoms as a back drop. This goes to show even in a big city, we can operate the businesses on a local level.

From today we can open the bookings for our classes starting next week:

Morning Flow classes 10h30 Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat

Evening Flow classes 18h30 Tues, Wed, Thurs

These classes will be modified to suit all practitioners.

The Hotel address is Rua do Jardim do Regedor 27, Lisboa. In between the studio and Restauradores Metro station. Once there your yoga teacher or friendly reception staff will help you find the terrace which is situated on level 1.

We will review this schedule as we go, we may be able to offer more classes in the future. In the meantime, we can also take private bookings at the studio 🙏

Current class passes are valid for outdoor yoga, also new yogis can try 3 classes for €25.

Lets go Summer 2021!!!!

Spring in the Asana

Spring in the Asana

Ola Yogis,

Spring is in the air with Sauca (Cleanliness) and Santosa (Contentment) guiding our dharma talks and satsang at the studio for the beginning of  the season.  There are many ways to shift impurities of the mind, cleansing jealousy, greed, anger and ego however for me the most powerful way is to practice Pranayama, Asana and Dharana (single focus meditation).  Soon the jealousy shifts to inspriation, the greed into contribution to others, anger into a path to change my actions and ego into humbleness to honour all those who have come before me.  Purposefully guiding the mind into a space of expanding inner contentment during seated meditation helps me locate this place when I need it most.  Cleansing the emotional and mental bodies daily is an important practice just as we wash our physical body in the shower.  Everyday we experience new things, some moments leave lasting impressions and imprints, although we cannot change the past we can learn to cleanse the past from things that cause harm to us.  Just like showering, you dont do it just once and stay clean forever, a clean kitchen soon turns to mess after a beautiful home cooked meal, the emotional body is designed to get messy and requires to be cleansed.  Share with us your methods of cleansing (not the house…. but the emotions!).  We hope your spring clean is as deep as ours has been!
