Move Forward and Feel Safe

Move Forward and Feel Safe

Welcome Yogi’s,

It’s the time many of us have been patiently waiting for, the return to in person yoga classes at MoY.  The most important part of this transition is that you feel safe to come to practice. From Monday 31st August we are opening the space to accommodate 4 yoga students + the teacher per class.  We have reduced and changed hours for classes, please checkout our new schedule here.

As we know not everyone is ready to join in person which is understandable, in this case Zoe is continuing to record classes on our Private YouTube Channel, you can register by emailing Zoe; ztaylorministry@gmail.com

Due to these changes and reduction of students able to practice day to day,  we will not be able to provide unlimited memberships for the time being (Zoe will be in touch with those that currently hold a pass).  All class packs, drop in’s and introductory offer still stand. Those with existing packs, your expiry date will be reactivated from Monday 31st August.  We now also require 8 hours’ notice for cancelation otherwise the class is deducted from your MoY pass, this gives the chance for the waitlist to activate and give adequate notice to your fellow yogi’s who want to attend.

We are cautiously moving forward and we ask you when possible to bring your own yoga mat or grip towel (our mats will be heavily sanitised after each use), we will have disinfectant to use before and after class for hands.  Our suggestion is to find one or two classes you want to attend each week and rebook them, that way you meet the same teacher and other students weekly. I know this goes without saying, however if you have any symptoms of an infection or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive, please wait 14 days and/or a negative test result until you return to classes.

Let’s take a step forward and observe the path that appears,

See you on the mat 🙂

Pure Nature Yoga Weekend

Pure Nature Yoga Weekend

Hi MoY Yogis,

I know many of you are ready to return to in-person yoga practice, holding that space for yourself, space for others, space for the community….. We are too.  However in light of the recent increases of covid 19 cases and re-introduction of restrictions in the Lisbon Metropolitan Region, it gives me reason to press pause on the plans to re-open the studio space for now. Luckily our years of practice teach us patience, it’s time to lean into that and receive the benefits of the work already done.

However as we wait patiently to roll out the purple mats under the much adored scrabble wall, why shan’t we take a look into removing some of these ‘other’ walls, those that tend to creep into our life preventing us from doing something different, something new, something out there.

Over the coming summer months we will be organising outdoor gatherings of yoga, giving you a chance to do something you may have never done before.

The first of this is happening as early as this coming weekend, July 11th&12th, with PURE NATURE YOGA WEEKEND. If you like camping, if you like yoga, if you want to be close to nature but not alone then this is for you. This is 100% outdoors, from where we practice yoga, to where we serve food, the only time you retreat inside is in the comfort of your own tent.  Bettina and I (Zoe) have put together an incredible 2 day program that includes: Kundalini Yoga, Yin, Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Nidra, a meditation walk to a secret waterfall, cacao ceremony and a delicious supply of organic meals. The full schedule, price and how to sign up is listed on our event page here.

If you miss out on this one, sign up quick for the next one 8th&9th August!

Keep an eye out on the Ministry of Yoga Facebook page or subscribe to this blog to receive emails about the up and coming outdoor gatherings which will include more of our wonderful MoY Teachers.

In addition to our summer outdoors, I am continuing to offer MoY Online classes, with the study of Yoga Sutras Book 2 beginning Monday July 13th. The option to purchase the 21 Day Challenge and Yoga Sutras Book 1 is still available. Contact me to find out more!

Lets continue to do the things that we know bring happiness and joy to our beings.

Until we meet again,

Zoe and the MoY Team

Let’s Reconnect

Let’s Reconnect

1 month today….. a month of Sundays as a friend put it, I closed the studio to public classes.  I miss it, I miss the street, the people, the building. I miss the sound of the door buzzer, the smell of burning incense, your faces as you walk into the room, the mantra music, the energy of practising together on the mat, the uniting Om, the yoga glow of the eyes as we re-engage with the world post-practise.  Yes, these are the things that bring me joy in teaching yoga.  However not all is lost, in fact the truth is as one door closes (literally) another opens…. a small portal opened for us to practise yoga together anywhere in the world.  I am seriously blown away by the many yoga students who have been able to continue their practise with MoY over this last month in a virtual sense.  Now as much as I will say teaching yoga in person will always be my first preference but this is showing me that a virtual class can bring so much joy in many other forms.  It’s reconnection, it’s never saying goodbye, it’s continuing where we left off.  The knowledge of yoga is still shared, we can meditate live together, we can practise at the time of day that suits us energetically best.  It’s siblings and best friends being able to share yoga together across countries, continents and oceans.  Even my Mum can join me daily on the mat from Tasmania.  So what I’m getting to is, a month of Sundays ain’t too bad after all.  As I have learnt in meditation, we can not stay stuck on the past it will only cause misery, we cannot project and create expectations for the future…. it will cause suffering.  We can only find true contentment in living in the moment.  This is our moment.

What does the new monthly MoY Online membership cover? Daily sūtra studies, asanas (Hatha, Vinyasa, YinYang) and meditations. All for a greatly reduced (and comparable to other online yoga programs) price of €25per month (equiv. $45 for Australians). Delivered to you through our YouTube channel: Ministry of Yoga Online

So if you are at a bit of a loose end, needing something to keep you moving, something that destresses you, something to clear the mind.  Get in touch with Zoe and we will have a chat about your online yoga needs. Email: ztaylorministry@gmail.com

Let’s reconnect,

Zoe

This is not the time to Stop…. it’s the time to Start

This is not the time to Stop…. it’s the time to Start

After time in meditation, contemplation and communication (with many of you), I have decided to close the public classes at the studio for the moment. I am past the state of fear, and know that we can only ‘be’ in the present, right now we need to protect our most vulnerable in society- Ahimsa.
My method at MoY was to always bring daily practice, therefore to uphold this commitment I will start an online library of classes, to give you what is needed most in challenging times….. The Practice.
I will practice with you for the next 21days purely online. We will be studying yogic philosophy, Asana and Meditation daily through the technological advancements that are available to us.
I will continue to share this incredible journey called a yogic life. Doesn’t matter where you are in the world, I will be right beside you on a mat.
All memberships and passes will be suspended from Saturday 14th March. A new online membership will begin on 16th March for 21days, this will be €25per person which will help cover studio overheads until we are back in full flight. Please inform me if you require a refund of your studio pass due to leaving the country permanently.
I understand that your lives have been tipped upside down and uncertainty is the new certainty, together we will navigate this new setting through our practice.
Don’t stop, simply start.
Zoe & the MoY Team

What to do next: To register for the online community, email ztaylorministry@gmail.com
I will send you payment info, links and a special yoga postures guide to use when you’re offline.
I’ll spend this weekend refining my videography skills and making our 21days online super fun for the body, mind and soul. Lets do this isolation thing together 🙂

There will be limited numbers of private classes the MoY Team can take, please get intouch if you want a weekly private yoga session. +351 937 237 228

A Moment of Stillness

A Moment of Stillness

A moment of stillness, in it’s light, wholeness, glory and imperfection a photograph captures.  We too can catch a pause in life, to exist simply within the breath.

Stillness, pausing, taking a break is often what gives a boost to the body, mind and soul. That’s exactly what the MoY Team will be embracing over the Christmas/New Year hiatus.

Classes will pause from 22nd December and resume on 6th January, with a renewed fire in the belly. Here are some of the exciting things to look forward to in January 2020!

  • The extremely fun and entertaining Ministry of Yoga Birthday Party, this year we will host you on Sunday 19th January…. all classes will be donation based, hip hip hoooray! Keep an eye out on Mindbody bookings and our facebook page for the list of classes. TBA
  • Wednesday 8pm class is now Restorative Yoga + Meditation, what a mix!!!! This will be delivered to you by the soothing sounds of Sandra.
  • Wednesday 5pm class will shift into a creative dynamic Vinyasa Flow with power house Lena.
  • Then of course our regular workshops of Massage, Inversion and Assisting (for teachers) along with the monthly Sister Circle will be on the agenda.

As much as we are excited to bring all these goodies now, we know its best to rest, restore and renew.

See you in 2020.

Zoe and the Moy Team.

*Please note: Zoe will be offline with all communications between 20th Dec and 31st Dec. Any emails, texts, whatsapps, whats news, where’s it at, flip dog, touch toes will be responded to in the new year! Boas Festas a Todos.

A Change is as Good as a Holiday

A Change is as Good as a Holiday

What do you think? Do you like to mess up your routine once in awhile? Go on a holiday? Change jobs? Perhaps even a simple change, such as re-arranging the furniture in your lounge room.  They say “a change is as good as a holiday”

Maybe you are already on holiday in sunny Lisbon? and we want to keep you yoga-ing all through the summer months, to do so we have a modified our regular schedule to 3-4 classes a day.  The new schedule is all up to date here: Online Timetable

We will welcome you into our friendly, local and international community of Lisbon with 18 diverse classes each week over summer.   MoY is a space to switch off the external noise and delve deeper into your self, unencumbered by burden or expectations.  Whether you are brand new to yoga or have practiced for many years, the teachers provide a safe environment for you to explore the shapes and methods of yogic practices.  Not only do we offer both dynamic and restorative sessions, we also value bringing yoga into a way of life through the study of yoga sutras (philosophy).

We have a number of pricing options however if you are here for a week or so why not pick up a 3 class pack for 20euros (available once) that way you’ll be sure to fit in time for yoga during your holidays.

Get in touch if you need help booking a class email: ztaylorministry@gmail.com or WhatsApp/Ph Call +351 937 237 228

We hope to meet you soon.

Learn and Grow with Yoga

Learn and Grow with Yoga

Spring is a time for growth and abundance! We have plenty of that coming up at the studio over the next few months. The Ministry of Yoga concept is to embrace many styles of yoga, allowing a practitioner to have a wide and varied experience and exposure to the methods of finding Samadhi (state of bliss in being). Below is a summary of who will join us on a regular basis as well as workshops and events.

To begin with I would like to welcome Faye Cawley to our teaching team who begins regular weekly meditations on Wednesday evening 8-9pm.  Be prepared to grow again in your yogic practices.

Sat Preet (Milagros) has returned to MoY on a permanent basis to share Kundalini Yoga teachings with our community, you will now find her offering a lunch time practice at 1pm-2pm Tuesday.

Deepa Bidd has a number of projects on the go and has decided to reduce her Forrest Yoga teachings to the one class per week Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm, we are so happy she can still come to share her knowledge.

Kit Emilson has a new style to bring to MoY, Strong Slow Flow.  Expect a creative, dynamic sequence which gives you time to move mindfully whilst transitioning and holding asanas. This is also suitable for all levels (beginners welcome).

Some of the amazing affordable workshops shared in English over the next 2months

  • TRE (Trauma Release Exercise) with Franziska Nuernberger from Berlin (Ger) 23/3 & 27/4
  • Chinese Meridians and Qi Theory with Hayley Enright (USA) 29/3 &12/4
  • Full 2hour Rocket Series with Ruby Morris (UK) 24/3
  • Kirtan with Leti Ghi (SWIS/UK) and Sankalpa -Manifesting Truth Workshop 28/4

All bookings can be made through our Mindbody Application https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/mainclass?fl=true&tabID=7

It’s important that as we grow we remind ourselves that the studio space remains at maximum 10 mats per class,  we love the community that is created from our small space however it is super necessary to commit to your bookings, if for some reason you are prevented in attending a pre-booked class please give a minimum of 3hours notice (ideally 1 full day) and cancel your reservation for someone else to have an opportunity to practice.  We do not instill a penalty as we understand that unexpected things happen but to keep it this way we do need dedication and respect to your fellow yogis and teachers.

Any questions on suitability of classes for you? please contact us ztaylorministry@gmail.com or phone +351 937 237 228

The studio will be closed for Easter, no classes Friday 19th & Saturday 20th April.

Warmest regards

Zoe and the MoY Team
